I paid a company ~$600 to restore a crashed hard drive of mine. It had all our honeymoon pictures and more on it. I'm a lot better about doing backups now... Anyway I need to start gettin' some value out of this rescued drive so here's a story with some pictures from the trip.

Our old camcorder stopped auto-focusing. And it doesn't have manual focus. It's kind of "Random Focus" now. Theoretically we could run around and change the distance to what we're recording to put things in focus (or yell to the kids "Run, fast, closer!"). We bought a citrus juicer, like this one. I think exactly this one. It looks like the Alien from the movie Alien... Or maybe like ET. It gets bad reviews on Amazon, but we paid $1 for it from a neighbor. It's been awesome for juicing lots of lemons. And since lemons are falling off our tree like rain it's helping a lot. The Creeps! There are lots of Tower Defense games for the iPhone. This is my favorite. Cartoony monsters try to wake up the sleeping kid. You have to stop them. There's no scrolling or zooming, everything is on-screen. There are multiple modes and lots of levels for each that offer a good variety of game play. Apparently iSight cameras are worth as much as gold now. Well, sort of. Apple discontinued making them and now they're going for $200+ on eBay. I paid $100 for mine when I was an employee at Apple. I made it with five minutes to spare. Nice. I felt sorry for a lady I helped in the parking lot minutes before. She asked me how to pay for parking. Kelly and I have been super busy with work lately. Our nephew Dan and his girlfriend, Kristen, came to visit. We're hoping they'll move out to California. Specifically... somewhere close. Now there are a lot of great reasons for them to move out, but a big one for me is that I can play board games with them.

Cow is a wind-up musical box sort-of-stuffed animal. She (it?) 
was a gift from Timmer and Alisa. Beautifully it plays "Mary Had a Little Lamb" instead of say... a song that has something to do with cows.

Here's a Wired Magazine article about it. The basic deal is if you sign up for a promotion (like subscribe to Blockbuster's DVD rental-by-mail) and sign up 5 more people on freeipods.com you get a free iPod. I always jokingly refer to it as the "Devil Gate." (See picture on right)

Jonah and I went to the mall to buy him some shoes. Apparently when your 15-month old walks around a lot you're supposed to put shoes on 'em. So they don't walk on glass or get cold or somethin'. We've done great at buying used clothes and getting hand-me-downs from friends. But we've been weak in terms of securing shoes for him. But I had a gyro and an orange freeze (tastes just like a creamsicle) at Falafel's Drive In for lunch. They make really good banana milkshakes too. Like as good as when I was little and we made milkshakes at home with vanilla ice cream, milk, and banana. And we used a milkshake machine that my Uncle Bob gave us. With the big metal cups and everything.

Now that Kelly and I are "old" they suggested that we may not want to pay for dental insurance any more because it's less likely we'll have many more cavities etc. Yeah, well, Kelly just had a $1000 crown done (it's not even gold!). So at least this year we've lost out on that plan. I've got horrible allergies right now. Runny nose and itchy eyes. Even the roof of my mouth is itchy. I've taken some generic Claritin every day for the last few days but it doesn't seem up to the job.

Why am I so allergic now? Maybe it's all the rain? Or our heat is on... is there some kind of creepy mold in the air filter? Should I have changed the filter already?
